"The Republican state senators who voted for same-sex marriage might have thought they were risking their careers, but instead have reaped hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions. And yet in this election year, the Obama administration recently signaled that it will continue to allow federal contractors to discriminate against gays, lesbians and transgender people."
We may not be convinced about Obama's full approach upwards gay legislations because it's been a rather slow move compared with Canada, Spain or the UK, when in fact the US should have approved many national gay freedom rights (such as marriage) a long time ago, proving that the conservative party still has a lot of power in the world's first economy.
Nevertheless, in an election year, most candidates are still not willing to get controversial in order to get more votes. Many of us bet the republican party may have a hidden last play against legalizing gay marriage in NY and Washington, but still the fight goes on and needs more support from all of us in the LGBT community to continue winning grounds even during presidential elections.
